The Emporia Police Department has released more information about Monday’s accident involving a bicycle and SUV in eastern Emporia.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says 21-year-old Nicole Gannon of Emporia was hurt when her bike collided with an SUV driven by 56-year-old Glenda Rice, also of Emporia.
The crash happened at 12th and East after Gannon, who was northbound on East, apparently failed to stop at a sign and went into the intersection before hitting the SUV. She was taken to Newman Regional Health before being airlifted to a currently-unnamed hospital. Rice was not hurt.
