Emporia State running back Kai Callins has announced via twitter that he is retiring from football.
He said It was definitely not an easy decision, but I needed to do what was best for my overall health and my family.
Callins left Saturdays game at Pittsburg State under concussion protocal.
During his career at Emporia State he missed two seasons after knee surgeries.
He is a graduate student at Emporia State and this brings an end to his football career.
Emporia State Coach Garin Higgins said he understands and repects the decision. Kai will always be a part of the football family and wished him nothing but the best moving forward.
