With this year’s Dirty Kanza already over local riders are already preparing next year’s race with second women’s training camp that started on Thursday.
The training camp helps riders in a variety of ways. Event Organizer Kristi Mohn says that the camp helps women take time for themselves.
DK riders all have different experiences that make them want to come back and do better in the next race. The same goes for DK rider Crystal Kovacs who says that the people she met are what really inspired her.
The first day of the camp started off with registration and ended with a threshold test made to help coaches find where attendees are physically.
Training camp activities will continue through Sunday
Events for the weekend include:
One on one time with coaches, presentations, and a group ride on Friday.
Then riders will participate in Bleeding Kansas Gravelduro (a race In Manhattan, KS) on Saturday.
Finally, more coach time, presentations, and another group ride on Sunday
