The Lyon County Appraiser’s Office is operating at 100 percent.
During the Lyon County Commission’s weekly action session Thursday morning, county appraiser Ryan Janzen presented the results of the county’s 2019 substantial compliance evaluation. The compliance is based on two different areas, statistical compliance and procedural compliance.
According to Janzen, statistical compliance is based on how close the county’s “values are to hitting actual sale prices.” The county has to be within 10 percent on average.
Janzen says the procedural aspect ensures the office is “dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s” correctly. He tells KVOE News the Department of Revenue requires the appraiser’s office to score a minimum of 70 percent compliance and Lyon County scored a perfect 100 meaning the county met all requirements for substantial compliance.
Additionally, Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods presented to items for consideration. The first sought approval of a quote from Frank Black Pipe and Supply for 650 ft of 18-inch casing and 600 ft of surplus 24-inch casing. Total cost is estimated at $38,700.
Secondly, Woods presented an entrance application for Travis Heins at 1526 Road 75. Both items were approved unanimously.
In other business, commissioners approved a quote presented by Facilities Director Mark McKenna from Mapcon Technologies Inc. for a maintenance software replacement totaling $5,474.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for their weekly action session next Thursday at 8 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse.
