Emporia Fire Station two played host to the final Safe Kids Emporia Child Passenger Safety Check Lane of the year Saturday.
The check lane is a time for parents to stop by and get their child’s safety seat checked out by certified technicians to ensure it is correctly installed.
Emporia Police Sergeant Lisa Sage says the interaction with local children makes the check lane a fun experience for her.
Safe Kids Emporia President Jeff Illk he recounts a specific occasion which illustrates the importance of the check lane and how it can save lives.
