The third annual installment of Flint Hills Technical College’s flavor-packed cooking competition, The Cut, is now less then a month away.
The event gives FHTC culinary arts students a chance to show off their cooking prowess in a competitive format similar to the popular Food Network show, “Chopped.” While students are fast at work in the kitchen, attendees will have the opportunity to view their progress from the FHTC Conference Center.
FHTC Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch explains that culinary arts students are not the only ones receiving a unique experience, as multimedia students will be helping to broadcast the competition to those in attendance.
As in years past, the competition will consist of an appetizer, entree, and dessert round with one contestant being eliminated after each round.
As there is limited space, Crouch encourages those who wish to attend to purchase tickets prior to the event by calling the foundation office at 620-341-1380. Tickets are $15 for an individual, and $25 for a pair.
The competition will take place at 6:00 pm on October 18th, with doors to the Conference Center opening at 5:30.
