The Flint Hills Community Health Center received a clean audit report for FY 2018 during the monthly board of directors meeting Tuesday.
The audit, presented by BKD CPA’s and Advisors Managing Director Christy Yoakum, reflected a clean opinion meaning there were no internal control or compliance discrepancies. The report also indicated the health center closed out 2018 with an operating cash balance of $1.1 million, a $550,000 increase from 2017.
Yoakum says FHCHC’s report stands out compared to other health center’s across the nation.
The report also indicated FHCHC was above Federally Qualified Health Center standards for all key financial indicators.
Additionally, during Tuesday’s meeting, the health center’s financial report indicated a net gain of $6,000 for the month of August. Total revenues were under budget by 9 percent while expenses were 11 percent under budget which contributed to the $6,000 net gain.
Cash on hand also increased to 55-days and the current year-to-date total is a loss of just over $5,000.
In other business board members also approved the monthly clinical reports — for the medical, dental and psychiatry clinics — as well as the monthly CQI report. Board members also approved a list of policy changes and discussed credentialing for employees.
The FHCHC Board of Directors will next meet Tuesday, Oct. 22nd at noon inside the Havenhill Conference Room.
