The Kansas State High School Activities Association has released the classifications for the school year and the football classifications for 2020-21.
Emporia High remains a 5A school. They are the 3rd largest 5A school. Leavenworth and Wichita Northwest are the lone schools with a larger enrollment.
Emporia High also remains 5A for football in 20 and 21.
8 area schools are 1A:
Olpe, Lebo, Burlingame, Madison, Hartford, Marais des Cygnes Valley, Southern Coffey County and Waverly.
4 area schools are 2A
Chase County, Northern Heights, Lyndon and Mission Valley.
3 area schools are 3A
Osage City, Council Grove and Burlington.
Only 2 area schools will change classifications for football in 2020-21. Council Grove moves up to 3A and Lebo will be 8 Man Division II.
