Emporia State University’s first jazz concert of the semester is set to benefit United Way of the Flint Hills on Thursday.
The concert will see the Faculty Jazz Combo, Student Jazz Combo, and ESU’s Jazz Ensemble One perform a wide variety of musical styles from rock, to latin, and even swing.
ESU Director of Bands Gary Ziek says in order to play this many styles performers need to be musical chameleons.
The concert will begin at 7:30 pm at Albert Taylor Hall. Admission will be free but freewill donations can be made towards the United Way Campaign which benefits a variety of local agencies throughout Lyon and surrounding counties as well as Woodson county.
