A woman was taken to Newman Regional Health with apparently non-life-threatening injuries after a wreck in downtown Emporia on Monday.
The crash happened at Sixth and Merchant shortly after 8:30 am and involved an SUV and a Lyon County Highway Department dump truck. The SUV driver was hospitalized afterward. Reports are still being compiled, so officers are not divulging names or other wreck specifics.

Emporia Police are investigating after an injury crash between an SUV and Lyon County Highway Department dump truck in downtown Emporia on Monday.
The crash happened at Sixth and Merchant shortly after 8:30 am. A woman was taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and treatment afterward, although EPD is not specifying which vehicle that person was in or any other crash details at this time. Reports are still being compiled.
