The annual Flint Hills Community Health Center drive-thru flu shot clinic exceeded expectations Friday.
According to staff on hand, the hopes were to administer 200 vaccines to local residents as they prepare for the arrival of the impending flu season. FHCHC Chief Operating Officer Amanda Dreasher tells KVOE News they had already administered 180 vaccines by noon Friday.
Mother of three Mayra Ruiz stopped through the clinic and says she appreciates the convenience of the event.
The clinic was open to anyone 6-months and older and Dreasher says receiving a flu vaccine is especially important for those individuals with children under the age of 6-months.
A total number of administered vaccines are currently pending. If you were unable to attend Friday’s clinic the health center offers walk-in vaccinations Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm.
