The Emporia State volleyball team picked up their first win in MIAA play Saturday, defeating Newman in 4 sets.
The Lady Hornets won 25-15, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-24. Yuchen Du led the offense with 17 kills. Mikayla Simons and Aliyah Bernard added 11 kills. Emma Dixon finished with 26 assists and Rylie Fornelli had 21 digs.
The Lady Hornets are now 5-10 for the season adn 1-6 in MIAA play.
