Details have been released after an SUV and Lyon County Highway Department dump truck collided in downtown Emporia a week ago.
A police report provided to KVOE News indicates the truck, driven by 54-year-old Ricky Sickler of Hartford, was originally eastbound on Sixth when Sickler turned north onto Merchant. The westbound SUV, driven by 69-year-old Vivian Stevenson-Mundy of Emporia, hit the back of the truck.
Steavenson-Mundy was taken to Newman Regional Health for treatment but has since been released.
The initial investigation determined Sickler turned in front of Steavenson-Mundy and the SUV could not stop in time to avoid the crash. Sickler was cited for failure to yield.
