The Emporia State soccer team is in the middle of an outstanding season. The Lady Hornets are 8-2 for the season and 3-0 in the MIAA, the only undefeated and untied team in conference play.
The Lady Hornets are making their first appearance in the national rankings this week. They are ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches top 25.
They have also moved up to number 2 in this weeks Central Regional poll. They are ranked behind Central Missouri.
The Lady Hornets are coming off dominating wins over Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri State. Coach Bryan Sailer said they have reached another level offensively.
The Lady Hornets are 2nd in the MIAA in goals scored per match. Averaging just over 2 goals each match. Freshman MacKenzie Dimarco is leading the MIAA in scoring with 12 goals.
She has been named the MIAA offensive player of the week.
She scored 3 goals against Missouri Western and scored 2 more goals against Northwest Missouri State.
The Lady Hornets play at Rogers State Friday and at Northeastern State Sunday.
