Neosho Rapids held a Fall Fun Fest fundraiser on Sunday to raise money for the Neosho Rapids Park improvement project.
The project hopes to add handicap accessibility and lights to the park and ball field as well as perform general updates to the ball field, playground equipment, and the bathrooms at the park. Park Improvement Committee Member Amy Fowler says that these improvements are important because of how old some of the equipment is.
The project is currently still in its fundraising stages but is seeing a good start with the last fundraiser raising around $3,600 and city funding well on its way.
The fundraiser included a multitude of activities for kids and their families to enjoy including hayrack rides, a pumpkin decorating and carving contest, a costume contest, and a chilli bar. Free-will donations could be made towards the project.
