The Emporia State volleyball team was unable to finish off 14th ranked Northwest Missouri State Friday night.
The Lady Hornets won the first two sets 27-25, 25-19. Northwest would win the next 3 sets 25-20, 25-17 15-10 to avoid the upset.Coach Bing Xu was pleased with the start.
Yuchen Du led Emporia State with 17 kills. Jessica Hayes added 14 kills and Aliyah Bernard finished with 10 kills.
Emporia State will host number 9 ranked Central Missouri Saturday night. First serve is set for 7pm at White Auditorium.
