Longtime KVOE executive Lee Schroeder has passed away.
Schroeder had been battling bladder cancer and was 80 years old when he died Wednesday night. Emporia’s Radio Stations owner Steve Sauder says Schroeder “did things by the book.”
Schroeder began at KVOE as sales manager in 1993, working his way to general manager in 2000 before becoming an account executive from 2009-2013 as health issues developed. Current General Manager Ron Thomas:
Schroeder’s media career also included stops in Abilene, Garden City and Wichita in Kansas along with stints in Clovis, New Mexico; Lincoln, Nebraska; Peoria, Illinois; and Baton Rouge, Louisiana before coming to Emporia.
