The Emporia High boys soccer team shutout Junction City 8-0 Thursday night to close out the regular season.
Elijah Williams scored 2 goals. Alexis Chaparro, Alvin Arriola, Hector Hernandez, Anthony Fierro, Wilber Landaverde and goalie Elias Cruz scored a goal. Elias scored his goal on a penalty kick.
The Spartans finish the regular season 12-4 and 6-2 in the Centennial league, 3rd place.
They are in 5th place in the 5A west standings and will play at home in the first round of the regional playoffs on Monday.
