The season came to an end for the Emporia High volleyball team Saturday at the Maize South sub-state.
The Lady Spartans defeated Andover Central in a play in match in 3 sets 25-19, 19-25, 25-19.
They were defeated by Maize South in the semi-finals in straight sets 25-16, 25-16.
Two area teams earned trips to State. Burlington advances to the 3A state tournament. Olpe advances to the 1A state tournament.
