We’re now less than a month away from the annual KVOE National Teacher’s Hall of Fame radio auction.
All proceeds from the annual auction go directly to the hall of fame to assist with their annual induction activities in the spring. Hall of fame director Carol Strickland says each year it costs roughly $40,000 to bring the five inductees and their families to Emporia — as well as the additional activities in Washington D.C.
Strickland says the auction is a great kickstart to their annual fundraising efforts.
There will be a wide selection of items to bid on this year including sports tickets and memorabilia, home decor and of course the always popular Evora Wheeler pies along with so much more. This year’s auction will take place on Thursday, Nov. 21 from the Emporia State Federal Credit Union building at 2332 Industrial Road.
The auction will again be broadcast on KVOE 1400 am/96.9 fm as well as on KVOE TV at KVOE.com. For more information and a complete list of auction items vist www.NTHF.org.
