The Emporia State volleyball team defeated Newman in 3 sets Friday night.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-21, the 2nd set 25-13 and had to rally to win the 3rd set 26-24. Emporia State trailed 13-6 and 15-7 but would rally scoring the final 6 points to win the set and the match. Coach Bing Xu liked the way they kept battling.
Freshman Shelby Ebert called the 3rd set a confidence boost.
The Emporia State volleyball team will host Central Oklahoma Saturday evening with first serve set for 7pm.
