Preliminary activities are just about over for the 2019 general election.
Advance voting has its final morning Monday, with courthouse voting hours from 8 am to noon. County Clerk Tammy Vopat says over 500 people, or about four percent of Lyon County’s population, have used the advance vote process — whether through courthouse votes, mail ballots or the offsite voter event at Flinthills Mall.
The general election will be Tuesday from 7 am to 7 pm. The ballot includes races for mayor, city council, city commission and school boards, as well as school bond issues for USD 253 Emporia and USD 389 Eureka.
KVOE will have complete election coverage starting around 7:05 pm, including results as they develop and candidate reactions after those results are finalized. Be sure to follow KVOE social media on Facebook@kvoenews and Twitter@kvoeam1400 for results as those are announced.
