This Saturday, freedom lovers from near and far will descend on Emporia’s All Veteran’s Memorial for the 17th annual Freedom Fest.
This year’s event is once again jam-packed with activities both familiar and brand new. Freedom Fest organizer and Kansas Army National Guard Command Sgt. Major Steve Harmon says they are always looking for ways to make Freedom Fest “bigger, better and stronger” each year.
Harmon says that the high endurance activities such as the biking and running events are not the only offerings to look forward to this weekend.
In addition to the lengthy list of activities, Emporia Main Street will be collecting donations for their annual soldier care package drive throughout the day.
Freedom Fest Schedule
* 7am: Check-in for Dynamic Discs Freedom Fest Open 8 am round
* 8 am: Late Registration
Freedom Fest Open Flight 1 Launch
* 9 am: Check-in for Freedom Fest Open 10 am round
* 9:30 am: Freedom 5K/1 mile Run/Walk or Stroll

* 9am – 3pm: KS Army National Guard & 1st ID Displays and Demonstrations
