The Emporia State womens basketball team was out scored by Harding 75-62 Friday in the season opener for both teams.
Coach Toby Wynn said they struggled offensively.
The Lady Hornets led 16-15 at the end of the 1st quarter but would trail 36-31 at halftime. Harding used a 17-3 run in the 3rd quarter to take control.
Tre’Zure Jobe led Emporia State with 21 points. Jessica Wayne added 15 points and Mollie Mounsey finished with 11 points.
The Lady Hornets will play Henderson State Saturday afternoon with tip-off at 12 noon. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
