Parts of southeast Emporia were bracing for water service to be offline for most of Friday as part of a planned repair project. It turns out water service was restored before noon.
Residents in a box involving Quail Creek from East to Pheasant Ridge and East from South to Kansas were alerted this week of the water valve repairs. Public Works crews were able to limit the repairs to one valve at East and Potwin and thus speed up the process.
The repairs followed a valve repair at 12th and Neosho and a water line repair on 12th between Grand and Garfield earlier in the week.
