The Emporia State football team out scored Missouri Southern 29-6 Saturday.
Quarterback Braden Gleason making his first start threw for 222 yards and 2 touchdowns, a 42 yard pass to Wil Amos and a 23 yard pass to Cole Schumacher.
Carlos Grace became the 2nd running back in Emporia State history to score 3 touchdowns on runs of 69 yards or more in a season when he scored on a 69 yard run joining Brian Shay on that list.
The Hornet defense held Missouri Southern to 264 yards, over 200 yards under their season average. Emporia State recorded 6 sacks. Senior Parker Bass finished with 2 and half sacks.
Lawson Holbert had 2 interceptions and Gary Woods had an interception.
Coach Garin Higgins called it a good all around effort.
The Emporia State football team closes out the season when they host Central Oklahoma next Saturday. .
