Team Schnak has announced the winner of its now-annual golf cart giveaway.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 segment Thursday, Greg Ek of Wichita won the cart, with 100 people donating $100 each for the chance to win it. Team Schnak founder Kent Schnakenberg says all the proceeds raised from the drawing will benefit the group’s efforts to raise awareness about juvenile diabetes, including giving young patients the chance to experience Camp Discovery.
Team Schnak has also raised over $400,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation since it began.
Schnakenberg says this was actually the second drawing for the same Yamaha cart. The prior winner ultimately did not want the vehicle, so Schnakenberg bought it back — setting up the Thursday drawing.
