The Emporia State soccer team was defeated by Northeastern State in a shootout in the semi-final round of the MIAA tournament Friday.
Emporia State scored first on a goal by Hannah Woolery in the 18th minute of play.
Northeastern would tie the match in the 68th minute of play.
The teams played thru 2 overtimes before the match was decided in a shootout with Northeastern connecting on 3 of 5 attempts. Emporia State connected on 2 of 5 attempts.
Northeastern will play Central Oklahoma in the Championship match Sunday.
Central Oklahoma defeated Central Missouri 1-0.
Emporia State now waits for the NCAA selection show on Monday to find out if they receive an at large bid.
