The Emporia State womens basketball team began their road trip to South Dakota with a 75-57 win over Northern State Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 11-2 lead and never trailed the rest of the day.
Emporia State led by as many as 18 in the first half before Northern State rallied to cut the deficit to 4. The Lady Hornets would take a 38-30 lead to the locker room.
Emporia State scored the first 6 points of the 3rd quarter and would built a 20 point lead.
The biggest lead was by 22 points in the 4th quarter.
Coach Toby Wynn was pleased with the start of the game and the 2nd half.
Tre’Zure Jobe scored a game high 19 points. Jessica Wayne added 18 points. Fredricka Sheats and Morgan Laudan both scored 10 points. Emporia State scored 26 points off of 23 Northern State turnovers.
The Emporia State women are now 3-1 for the season and play at University of Sioux Falls Tuesday.
