The Emporia Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming concert will showcase the spirit of diversity within the Emporia community Tuesday evening.
A Symphonic Kaleidoscope: Celebrating Diversity in Emporia will be taking place at Albert Taylor Hall on the campus of Emporia State University. ESO Conductor Ramiro Miranda says the musical performance will not be the only attraction Tuesday.
He says a special panel discussion on diversity will serve as a prelude to the evening’s show.
The performance is completely free to attend and will include selections from Chinese composer Sam Wu, Mexican composer Jose Elizondo, American composer Florence Price and ESU’s own Director of Bands Gary Ziek. The evening will begin with the diversity panel at 6 pm followed by the concert at 7:30 pm.
