Residents of northeast Chase County affected by a boil water advisory this week can now use their water without extra steps.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has lifted a boil water advisory for Chase County Rural Water District No. 1. The advisory was announced Monday after a loss of pressure in the system, which can lead to either an increased risk of bacterial contamination or outright health issues. However, KDHE says there were no signs of contamination.
KDHE has not said how the loss of water pressure developed. It does say all conditions that put the system at risk of contamination have been resolved.
