Imagine having the chance to cram as many grocery items as you can in five minutes.
Carolee Conway had that chance Saturday as part of the Rotary Club of Emporia’s first-ever Grocery Grab at Good’s Cash Saver. And she made the most of it, clearing over $900 worth of groceries.
Conway says she began planning Monday, determining her course through the store and also timing simulated runs. She says this will get her family and a couple others into early next year.
Rotary Club President Sharon Tidwell was impressed by how things went.
Good’s Cash Saver manager Brad Durbin says the grocery store jumped at the chance to be involved.
The Grocery Grab has become a fundraiser for the Rotary Club and its many projects, and all indications are pointing to another event next year. Totals from this year are pending after over 500 entries were submitted.
