Zac Owens scored 24 points and Keyon Thomas scored 21 points to lead the Emporia State mens basketball team to a 104-63 win over St. Mary Friday night.
St. Mary jumped out to a 11-6 lead before the Hornets went on a 19-0 run to take a lead they would not give up. The biggest lead for the Hornets was by 44 points. Coach Craig Doty said there were a number of positives.
4 Hornets finished with double-figure points. Zac Ownes led the way with a game high 24 points.
Keyon Thomas finished with 21 points, 19 came in the first half. Justin Balcome finished with 14 points and Brenden Van Dyke added 12 points.
The Hornets are now 5-3 for the season. They will host Nebraska Kearney in their MIAA opener December 5th.
