The Emporia High boys swim team will open their season Thursday with a 9 team home meet.
Coach Jamie Dawson has 23 swimmers out with 7 of them returning from last year.
Coach Dawson adds that with all the inexperienced swimmers the early part of the season will be a challenge.
Of the returnees there are 4 that competed at State last year including Reed Slayden the defending State diving champion.
Andrew Wendling, Mason Harmon and Max Piper were part of the 200 free relay team that competed at state.
