The Emporia High girls and boys wrestling teams begin their seasons this week.
The girls team will open at Spring Hill Thursday. This is the first season for a girls only season in Kansas. Coach Brook Medrano is excited to get the season started.
The boys team will open at Arkansas City Saturday. Over 70 wrestlers are competing for spots on the team.
The Spartans return 3 wrestlers that qualified for State, Whitney Hall, Ethan Garate and Levi Buckridge.
The girls team will also be hosting a tournament Saturday.
