4:30 pm Tuesday: Emporia Police investigating trio of shots fired calls around town
Emporia Police are investigating after several shots fired calls over the past several days, and officers are asking for information as the process continues.
Capt. Dave DeVries says a house at 901 Mary was hit by bullets shortly after 8 pm Monday.
Two other incidents took place last week. DeVries says officers responded to the 300 block of West 11th for reports of shots fired between 1 am and 1:40 am Saturday. They were still in that area when another call came in for shots fired on East Logan. Investigators say a house at 531 East Logan was hit by bullets. DeVries says the initial report on West 11th was for shots possibly in the air, but officers found a house at 1101 Congress was struck by bullets as well.
All three addresses were occupied when they were hit. Nobody was hurt at any of the homes.
There is currently no word on suspects. Officers have not determined whether any or all of the cases are connected. There is also no confirmation about the number of bullets to hit the homes.
