Students at both Emporia High School and Emporia Middle School were released on schedule following a day-long lockdown at both facilities.
Classes are set to resume as normal Wednesday following a level one lockdown which was enacted shortly before 11 am Tuesday morning. A level one lockdown is put into place due to events that occur outside of the buildings. According to the district, both students and staff were safe and experienced a “normal school day.
The district released a statement Tuesday afternoon thanking all district patrons for their patience during the lockdown, however, no additional details as to why the lockdown was enacted have been released.
