County roads typically don’t have a lot of clearance on either side of the road, and the Lyon County Highway Department is urging drivers to give snowplow drivers the space they need to do their jobs.
Assistant County Engineer Jim Brull says there were several incidents Sunday where drivers failed to do that.
Brull says all the Lyon County incidents turned out to be near-misses, but that was not the case to our north as two KDOT plows were hit during snow-clearing efforts. No injuries were reported, but at least one of the plows had to go out of service after it was struck.
