Weather is playing havoc with travel — and with schedules — for the second straight day.
Dense fog advisories cover Lyon and all surrounding counties until 10 am. Visibility could be less than a quarter-mile at times, and issues with visibility are compounded by the sub-freezing temperatures, meaning freezing fog and the risk of black ice on streets, roads and highways. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says conditions will improve after noon, but the morning hours could be hazardous. Freezing fog is having some impact on select Lyon County roads, with freezing noticed on Burlingame Road and Road 175, also known as Old Highway 50. Nearby counties are noticing patchy dense fog but no icing on roads as of 5:30 am.
After almost all area school districts canceled classes Monday, there is more of a mix of cancellations and delays Tuesday.

Meyers is also concerned about a possible refreeze and more fog after sunset, but he says the risks of both are lower than what we have for Tuesday morning.
