(esu) Emporia State Head coach Garin Higgins has announced the addition of two transfers that have signed to attend Emporia State and play football for the Hornets. Offensive lineman Connor Lierz and quarterback Jack Diamond will join the Hornets after the semester break and take part in spring practice.
Lierz is a 6-2, 300 pound guard/center from Manhattan, Kan. He is transferring to Emporia State from Hutchinson CC. He was an honorable mention All-Jayhawk Conference performer for the Blue Dragons who finished third in the final NJCAA National Poll.
Diamond is a 6-2, 205 quarterback from Shawnee, Okla. He is transferring to Emporia State from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He was 32 of 76 for 426 yards and six touchdowns in seven games for the Norsemen and added 270 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground in 2019.
Coach Higgins said a spot opened at the quarterback position with Dalton Cowan moving to S-Back.
