Emporia State Women’s basketball coach Toby Wynn has announced the addition of Destiny Alston to the Lady Hornets recruiting class for 2020-21.
She will be a transfer from Seward Community College. Alston is a 5-10 guard from Forgan, Okla. She signed with Coach Wynn at Seward CC before he became coach at Emporia State. She redshirted as a freshman in 2018-19 as she rehabbed from a knee injury. She expected to return to action for Seward CC in January.
“Destiny is a very high level player that had offers from Big 12 schools and interest from other high profile programs when she was in high school, but her career to this point has been stalled due to some injuries,” said Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn. “These injuries caused those schools to drop off of her, but knowing Destiny and her family, and her summer Coach Lonnie Bailey I have always believed that she still has lots of great basketball ahead of her. We look forward to her progressing back to 100 percent and bringing her talents to Emporia State and Lady Hornet Basketball.”
She will join freshmen Ehlaina Hartman, Emily Weathers and Addison Hooper at Emporia State next season.
