Olpe and Emporia fire crews responded to a minor grass fire Sunday afternoon.
According to Olpe Fire Chief Wade Schmidt, crews were called to the 200 block of Road 50, roughly 20 miles south of Emporia, for a grass fire shortly before 3 pm. Schmidt says upon arrival crews discovered between 5-10 acres of was burned but crews had the fire under control relatively quickly.
The fire was not near any structures and was called in by a passerby. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
