Cyclists and runners wanting to ring in the new year with a big activity can do so on the holiday itself.
A special New Year’s Ride and Run launches from the Emporia State Campus Woods trailhead just north of campus beginning at noon Wednesday. Riders and runners will then meet at Gravel City Adventure and Supply Company from 1-2 pm for hot coffee, cocoa and discussions about upcoming events.
