Unless there is a late change in direction, trial is coming next week for an Emporia robbery suspect.
Harold Stewart is accused of robbing the Max’s BP convenience store almost a year ago and faces a count of aggravated robbery in the case. Last week, Judge Merlin Wheeler denied a defense motion to suppress evidence, in this case the financial card that was allegedly tried to purchase items at the store. Authorities say the card was ultimately declined before Stewart came back to rob the store.
Trial is set to begin Monday in the case.
