The Emporia State basketball teams began 2020 in style with wins Wednesday night.
The Lady Hornets defeated Missouri Valley 97-58. Tre’Zure Jobe scored a career high 30 points to lead the offense. She also had a game high 8 assists and 8 steals.
Mollie Mounsey added 18 points making 6 three point shots.
Kali Martin finished with 16 points.
Karsen Schultz scored 10 points. With the win the Lady Hornets are now 9-2 for the season.
The Emporia State men scored the games first 13 points and cruised to a 87-57 win over Baker.
Brenden Van Dyke was the leading scorer with 16 points. He also had a game high 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
Justin Williams added 13 points, Keyon Thomas scored 12 points and Devin Rottweiler finished with 11 points.
The Hornets are now 8-3 for the season.
Both the Emporia State women and men play at Washburn Saturday.
