Recent rainfall eased abnormally dry conditions in the area — to a degree.
The latest report from the US Drought Monitor wipes out abnormally dry conditions from northwest Greenwood and western Morris counties. It also all but eliminates those dry conditions from southwest Lyon County.
Most of Chase County remains abnormally dry at this time.
The update comes after heavy rain Dec. 28, with anywhere from an inch to nearly 3 inches of rain reported areawide.
