Formal charges are pending against a man arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery in west Emporia earlier this week.
Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says the arrest of 19-year-old Jeremy David Spicer, hometown not listed, came after officers were dispatched to the Econo Lodge Hotel, 2511 West 18th, early Tuesday morning for a report of an attempted robbery at the business. Officers used surveillance video before and during the alleged incident, identifying Spicer as a suspect later in the day.
Besides attempted robbery, Spicer was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and making false information. Additional details are pending.
