For the 2nd year in a row the Kansas City Chiefs have advanced to the AFC Championship game after their 51-31 win over the Houston Texans Sunday.
The Texans jumped out to a 24-0 lead before the Chiefs rallied scoring 41 unanswered points, scoring on 7 straight possessions.
The Chiefs became the first team in NFL history, regular season or playoffs, to trail by 24-plus points in the first half and be tied or leading entering halftime, per NFL Research.
Chiefs Coach Andy Reid said it took a team effort.
Coach Reid said he was not worried after the first quarter.
Patrick Mahomes became the first player in NFL playoff history to pass for 300-plus yards, rush for 50-plus yards and throw five TDs in a game. Mahomes finished with 321 yards passing, 9.2 yards per attempt and five TDs and added 53 yards rushing.
Travis Kelce caught 3 touchdown passes.
Damien Williams caught a touchdown pass and scored 2 rushing touchdowns. Blake Bell also caught a touchdown pass. The Chiefs will host the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Championship game on Sunday with kick-off at 2:05.
The Titans defeated Baltimore 28-12 on Saturday.
In the NFC Championship game It will be Green Bay at San Francsico.
Green Bay defeated Seattle 28-23. San Francisco out scored Minnesota 27-10.
