Emporia’s Mechanic Street underpass will close starting Monday.
City Clerk Kerry Sull says the closure is due to the city’s ongoing work on the downtown sanitary sewer improvement project. Pipe construction will force the underpass to close all next week.
Drivers are told to fund other ways across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad during the closure.
