The turn of a new year is always an exciting time for Girl Scouts for one main reason – cookie sales – and Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland has several events lined up to get the scouts ready for the sales.
Cookie sales will officially start on Feb. 13, but just prior to this big day will be the Cookie Kickoff at the Clint Bowyer Community Building. Local girl scouts are invited to come on Feb. 12 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm to participate in the fun and themed activities, including a girl scout-inspired escape room called Break Out of the Cookie Box.
Paula Roper of Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland enjoys this time of year because of the life lessons that the girls can pick up along the way.
Also on the horizon for Girl Scouts of the Kansas Heartland – a bit earlier than the Cookie Kickoff – is the second annual Pre-Super Bowling Party. Hosted at the Flint Hills Lanes on Jan. 25 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, families are invited to dress up in sports attire and bowl with Girl Scouts. Registration cost is $20, which includes the price of games and show-rentals. Various prizes will be handed out throughout the event. Register by clicking HERE.
Another thing coming up that Roper is ecstatic for is the summer camp options for Girl Scouts.
